For more than 30 years, Steven R. Antonoff has built his knowledge of educational options. He is the recipient of the IECA Professional Achievement Award in 2014. The award was created to recognize the person who has contributed the most to developing the profession of independent educational consulting.

He spent 11 years in college administration, serving as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, Executive Director of Admissions and Student Affairs, and Dean of Students at the University of Denver. Since founding Antonoff Associates in 1981, he has worked with more than 3,500 students and families in his Private Practice. His advice is often sought by related professionals (teachers, admission officers, other consultants) as they help their children make educational planning decisions.

Dr. Antonoff holds a PhD in human communication studies and an MA in education from the University of Denver and a BS in psychology from Colorado State University. In addition to his educational consulting practice, he has taught classes in college counseling and educational consulting principles and practices through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is currently an instructor and member of the Advisory Board for the Certificate Program in Educational Consulting through the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Antonoff has worked with College Summit providing guidance to low-income high school students and with the University of Colorado Medical School Doctoring Program.

A distinguished speaker, workshop leader, keynoter, and trainer, Dr. Antonoff is also the author of College Match: A Blueprint for Choosing the Best School for You! And The College Finder: Choosing the School That’s Right for You, as well as numerous articles for such publications as The Journal of College Admissions, The Educational Register, and Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges. He has been quoted by US News and World Report, Newsweek, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Money, Consumer Reports, The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Teen People. He was featured as one of “Colorado’s Top Personalities” in a recent issue of Colorado Expressions Magazine.
